HUKA
HUKA diving can be compared to a form of advanced snorkelling; it is an excellent step between snorkelling and scuba diving, with all the fun of both. There is lots of potential in HUKA. Many people are more inclined to give it a try ‐‐ there are no classes or certification needed, it’s perceived as less "dangerous" and requires less gear. Compared to scuba diving, HUKA diving is highly accessible.

HUKA diving makes it much more effective to run a dive trip. Typically, 3 to 4 hours are needed to finish a try‐scuba boat trip, and the actual dive time is only about 45 to 50 minutes; for HUKA, an 80 cu. ft cylinder lasts 30 minutes for 2 divers, and may only require 90 minutes’ outing time. Besides, there is no Master Diver needed, just a HUKA guide and it’s also safer with a 20 ft. deep maximum. Moreover, the minimum age for HUKA diving is only 8 years old, and parents are much more inclined to having their kids partake in a safe HUKA dive!

HUKA diving gears: a rectangular‐shaped floatation device with a scuba cylinder lying in the middle with a first stage attached to it. That’s it! The regulator has up to two 2nd stages with 10ft (or max. 20ft) long hoses attached. For safety consideration, every HUKA diver should put on an IST special designed inflatable life jacket for HUKA diving.
